Reminders from town hall

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2021

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2021. We wish you all the best on your graduation day this Sunday, June 6th and in your bright futures ahead.

On Sunday, June 6th from 5:45-6:15pm the newly graduated students in the Class of 2021 will board MSAD #51 school buses one final time and be escorted by our local fire and police departments down Main Street and Tuttle Road on the way to their Senior Celebration at a nearby location.

We are hoping to give this class an amazing send-off from people in North Yarmouth and Cumberland. The timing and logistics of the event require a shorter parade route than has been done in years past, so the best place to celebrate the students is by lining Main Street and the sidewalk on Tuttle Road. You may park on side streets off of Tuttle Road, at the school campus after 5:15pm, or the Town Hall in Cumberland where the procession will end.

These seniors have missed so much because of the pandemic, and we want their final memory of high school to be one where they can know how much their communities support them by seeing a sea of people OF ALL AGES clapping, waving and even holding signs as they go by!

smash the stigma

On April 1st the Cumberland/North Yarmouth Mental Health Committee launched a community website aimed at highlighting resources focused on serving the needs of mental health in our community and this week, we kicked off what’s planned over the next 12 months to be many unique, challenging and hopefully inspiring conversations on mental health.

This video is aimed at spreading the word across our community that we are in this together. Hopefully you recognize some faces and we ask that you share it with your friends and family to help us spread the word of hope as we work to SMASH THE STIGMA around mental health!

horse drawn carriage

Skyline Farm Carriage Museum’s current exhibit highlights vehicles seen at numerous summer events throughout the horse-drawn era. Folks of the day used beach wagons, buggies, fringe top surreys, and hearses, just to name a few.  The children used goat and dog carts. A custom built 100+ year old wagon designed to move a rare children's flying seat ride from fair to fair will be partially setup.

The museum, located at 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth, is open for public viewing on Sundays, from May 16–June 27 and Sept. 5-Oct. 24, 1-4 p.m. or by appointment. Free admission; donations are appreciated.

For more information, contact Greg Cuffey at 892-0188 or info@skylinefarm.org. Skyline Farm is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization.
