Curbside Collections
If you have an issue with your trash/recycling collections contact Casella Customer Service at: 207-518-8653.
In August of 2024 the Town began a new automated trash and recycling curbside collection program. Each residence in town was issued two 64-gallon wheeled carts, one for household waste and one for recycling (zero-sort).
You must use the Town trash and recycling carts to participate in curbside collection. Carts must be placed curbside by 7am to ensure collection. Carts must be properly placed to ensure pickup. See placement guide below. Avoid placing carts on the sidewalk or shoulder if possible as a courtesy to bicyclists and pedestrians.

Cart Placement | Carts must be placed at least 3 feet apart and at least 3 feet away from other objects like mailboxes or utility poles. The arrows on each lid should be pointing toward the street. See placement guide above. Improperly placed carts cannot be collected. Avoid placing carts on the sidewalk or shoulder if possible as a courtesy to bicyclists and pedestrians
Do we need special bags for household trash? Yes. household waste must be placed in an orange Town Pay-As-You-Throw trash bags. The purchase of PAYT bags encourages residents to recycle. The more residents recycle the less PAYT bags they must purchase.
Note: If you bag your trash in regular household trash bags (white/black, etc.) you must then place that bag inside an orange Town PAYT bag and cinch and tie it closed.
Download the Casella App to help keep up to date on your trash & recycling collection.
