The Red Cross has in place strict protocols for disinfecting before and after the drive, and to make sure each individual donation station is disinfected for each donor. Protocols are also in place for social distancing as donors arrive and await their turn.

We are facing a critical shortage of PPE which will endanger our healthcare workers and first responders. This will weaken our response to the Coronavirus. We ask that, each and every one of the citizens in our community scour their medical kits, work benches, medicine cabinets, sheds, hobby shops, professional labs and medical offices and PLEASE donate these PPEs to support our first responders, doctors and nurses on the frontlines of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Stay Healty at Home
On Tuesday, Governor Janet Mills issued a series of substantial new mandates to protect public health and safety in the face of COVID-19, including a Stay Healthy at Home directive that requires people living in Maine to stay at home at all times unless for an essential job or an essential personal reason, such as obtaining food, medicine, health care, or other necessary purposes.
The Executive Order took effect today, April 2nd at 12:01 a.m. and will last until at least April 30, 2020. The Governor may amend, rescind, or renew this timeline at her discretion. The Governor also extended the closure of restaurants and bars statewide for dine-in customers until at least April 30, 2020 to align with today’s Executive Order. Read the Full Executive Order Here.

REMINDERS THE ATTENDING PUBLIC: Please mute all digital devices; Select Board meetings are open to the public, but the public may not speak unless recognized by the Chairperson first. Workshops: The public is welcome to attend workshops and listen to the discussion that takes place. The purpose of holding a workshop is to provide the Select Board with the opportunity to focus on specific town matters to later present at a regular business meeting. Therefore, public participation is limited to only regular business meetings of the Select Board.
Ordinarily, applications for certain property tax exemptions would be submitted by April 1st to be effective for a municipality’s property tax commitment. Now, Governor Janet Mill's Executive Order extends the April 1, 2020 deadline to either the commitment date of the municipality or 30 days after the termination of the declared emergency, whichever occurs first.
The extended application deadline includes the following property tax exemptions:
- Property of Institutions and Organizations
- Estates of Veterans
- Solar and Wind Energy Equipment
- Exemption of Homesteads
- Exemption of Business Equipment (“BETE”)

A reminder to residents that the Maine State Legislature passed temporary provisions due to the State, County, and Town Office closures. The following registrations have been extended 30 days after the end of the State of Emergency:
- Motor Vehicle Registrations
- ATV Registrations
- Watercraft Registrations
- Dog Registrations.
*Please note that the Town Office cannot process any transactions, renewal or new, at this time.
North Yarmouth Fire Rescue is partnering with the Living Well in North Yarmouth Committee to provide wellness checks and other needs to the community during the coronavirus pandemic. The Fire Rescue department has a running list of residents in the town that they check on during town wide emergencies, snow storms, power outages, etc. The Fire Rescue Department is making these phone calls to our residents on Tuesdays and Fridays. Our first priority is to ensure the health of our community members. During the wellness checks, we have found that there may be a need to assist other members in the community, as well as those that are immuno-compromised, with groceries and medication pick-up.
Living Well in North Yarmouth has a group of dedicated members from the community willing to help those in need of the pick-up and delivery of groceries and medications. Having groceries and essential picked up will allow those in of items to still receive their essential items while limiting contact with the general public.
If you would to like assist with this program as a volunteer with Living Well in North Yarmouth, please complete the online application . One of the Living Well in North Yarmouth Committee members will be in touch with you.
If you would like to be added to the Fire Rescue Wellness Check list, please complete the online form. Once received, this will be added to our call list.
