March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary

Primary Election March 5th

Tuesday, March 5th is the Presidential Primary.  Polls are open from 7:00am to 8:00pm at Wescustogo Hall & North Yarmouth Community Center, located at 120 Memorial Highway in North Yarmouth.

Important Deadlines!
 
  • February 5 – Absentee Ballots Available.
  • February 14 - Closed Period Begins:  Only in person registrations will be accepted until Election Day
  • February 15 – Last day to withdraw or change enrollment in time to vote on Election Day. Voters changing their enrollment after this period will be within the 15 day Pending Period, and ineligible to vote in the Primary Election on March 5,2024. Voters enrolling in a party will need to stay in the party for 90 days before being eligible to change parties/un-enroll.
  • February 19 – Town Office Closed
  • February 29 – Last day to Absentee vote without a special circumstance. 

Absentee Voting

Absentee Ballots for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary and Municipal Referendum will available at the Town Office, during all regular business hours, starting February 5th.  Registered voters may vote in person or receive a ballot by mail.
 
Request your ballot now! 3 Easy Ways to Obtain Your Absentee Ballot:
  • Online: Request your Absentee Ballot online and we will mail it directly to you!
  • Over the Phone: Call the Clerk's Office at 829-3705 to request your ballot be mailed to you!  Telephone requests must be made by the voter only.  
  • In Person: Stop by Town Office to pick up ballots for yourself/immediate family members (spouse, child, parent, sister/brother) or vote your own ballot in person. 
After you receive and complete your ballot, you can drop them in the drop box located outside the of Town Office or you can mail them back. All ballots must be received no later than 8:00pm on March 5, 2024 to be counted.  Already submitted a request? Check the status of your ballot here.
 
NEW - Starting February 1, 2024, the State of Maine is offering ongoing absentee voting. A voter who qualifies will automatically receive an absentee ballot for each statewide election, municipal election and any other election for which the voter is eligible to vote and need not submit a request for each election. Click here to learn more!
