Meet Our New UPS Driver!
Hello Everyone,
My name is Shaun Avery and I just want to introduce myself as your new UPS driver! However, I am currently on vacation as I write this from my beach chair in Jamaica. I hope that my cover driver is taking good care of you this week while I am away.
I had the North Yarmouth route back in the early 2000’s but only for about 9 months until Todd who you all new and loved took it over for the past 19 years or so. As you may know, Todd retired on December 24th 2021. There were a few different drivers covering his route for a couple of weeks until I was temporarily awarded the route on January 10th and have been on it since.
At UPS, we get to choose our routes every two years, and yesterday was my turn to pick. I am happy and proud to announce that I will be your driver for the next two years and most likely until it is my turn to retire at the end of 2034. Todd left behind some big shoes for me to fill but I promise that I won’t disappoint!
My previous route was in the town of Pownal which also included part of North Yarmouth. So for some of you on the Pownal side of town, you have a new driver now that I won’t be doing that area much anymore. If you see a small white sticker on your package that says, “Y24” then you’ll know it was me who delivered it, unless I am off that day or for a week like I am now. I also take the entire month of July off and the first two weeks of August to run my gelato boat business on Little Sebago Lake.
I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know your dogs and other animals!
Sincerely,
Shaun Avery

Skyline Farm Carriage Museum’s current exhibit "Town and Country: Rocking and Rolling Down The Lane” showcases approximately forty unique business and personal cold weather, horse-drawn carriages and sleighs that would have been used during a typical New England winter. Sleighs were more likely used in the snowy countryside and wheeled vehicles in the warmer cities.
Of special interest, Skyline has recently acquired a rare Brewster & Co. Cee Spring Landau. This rather large, rare vehicle features a double-hooded roof arrangement which was great for summer or winter travel. Other vehicles on display include an original J.F. Hall sleigh built in Rockland, Maine, circa 1890, a double seat Albany, a sidewalk snow-roller, a heating contractor sleigh, a postal delivery sleigh, and a Buxton oil delivery vehicle. Oil and kerosene were once delivered to your home or business via a horse-drawn oil tanker!
Skyline Farm has partnered with Greely Middle School Art Teacher James Treadwell whose students created stunning three-dimensional paper snowflakes to hang from the museum's 1959 rafters to create a wintry ambience.
The museum, located at 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth, is open for public viewing on Sundays, from Feb. 6 through March 27, 1-4 p.m. or by appointment. Free admission; donations are appreciated. Dress warmly.
For more information, contact Greg Cuffey at (207) 892-0188 or info@skylinefarm.org. Skyline Farm is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization.
