Baston Park

2004 Dedication

In 2002, the Town received a significant gift from lifetime residents Dick and Rosalyn Baston. The Bastons donated a piece of property along the Royal River, just below the bridge on Route 9. This land has been developed into a very nice picnic area with the help of Don Chaisson and his Public Works crew in 2003. The work was spearheaded by Herb Hamel, who spent a considerable amount of time turning the area into a park worth visiting. Additional thanks go to Robert Anderson for his donation and transportion of large pieces of granite from his quarry to the park.  The Recreation Commission worked  with the North Yarmouth Events Committee to hold  a dedication ceremony  the summer of 2004.
