Admininstrative Clerk - Deputy Tax Collector

The Town of North Yarmouth is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Clerk/Deputy Tax Collector. This is a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week (Monday-Thursday) with a comprehensive benefit package. The individual will provide customer service in person, over the phone and by email and will be responsible for providing support for the front office operations. The position will assist in the issuance of vehicle registrations, tax collections, vital records, dog licenses, hunting & fishing license, absentee ballots, voter registration and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, eager to learn, resourceful and able to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment, possess the ability to understand and apply state and local laws and work under minimal supervision. Knowledge or experience working in local government and a municipal clerk’s office is ideal, however, we are willing to train the right candidate. The successful candidate must have a genuine interest in serving the citizens of North Yarmouth and be ready to serve as the first point of contact in the Town Office.  Qualified applicants must have excellent computer, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Applicants must have the ability to quickly learn specialized software programs and office procedures, have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

The pay range is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
