EDSC Openings & Job Descriptions

The Economic Development and Sustainability Committee is seeking candidates for two available openings:

  • Full-member position that expires June 30, 2025.
  • Alternate member position that expires June 30, 2025. 
Interested applications should consider the following job description and deadlines:
 
EDSC's Charge: All full members and alternates of the EDSC are expected to serve as a member of the committee in accordance with the EDSC's over-arching charge: The committee will, in conjunction with the Select Board, develop and promote a sustainable and ongoing process, supported by the community, that will strengthen the local economy, utilizing resources and strategies that will meet the current and future needs of North Yarmouth. 
 
Time Commitment: The EDSC meets monthly, generally on the fourth Thursday of each month, at the Westcustogo Hall & Community Center from 6:30pm-8pm. Applicants should be willing, able, and prepared to regularly attend meetings in person. In between monthly committee meetings, candidates should expect to volunteer for a subcommittee that maybe require 1-3 hours of additional monthly time spent on committee work. 
 
Full Member vs Alternate: The difference between the full member and alternate positions is that other than for purposes of electing the chair and secretary, an alternate may only vote in the absence of a regular member.
Candidates should indicate on their application if there are interested in being considered for the full member, alternate, or either position.
