Event Date:
Sunday, May 20, 2018 - 1:00pm

A native of Portland, Ron serves on the board of Spirits Alive—the Friends of Portland’s Eastern Cemetery—leading their walking tours program, participating in stone conservation and researching gravestones and their makers at the historic burial ground. Ron is a frequent lecturer on the early stone-cutters of southern Maine and guides groups through many historic cemeteries in the area. His original research on the life and work of stone-cutter Bartlett Adams led to the publication of his first book in 2016. His second book about Portland’s oldest burial ground was published last fall. Both books will be available at the presentation on May 20th in Walnut Hill Cemetery in North Yarmouth, Maine as Ron features 5 local stone-cutters (including Bartlett Adams) work in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
