CONGRATULATIONS LESLIE!!
Leslie Livingston (of North Yarmouth), Healthy Kids' longtime Executive Director who retired in January 2023, was recognized on April 18, 2023 at Maine's State House of Representatives. Healthy Kids' Board of Directors and staff requested this distinguished state honor for her 30+ years of work toward the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Leslie was awarded the Legislative Sentiment by Rep. Lydia Crafts (Newcastle) during the First Session of the House. The sentiment was co-sponsored by Senator Teresa Pierce (Cumberland) and Rep. Annie Graham (North Yarmouth). There is nobody more deserving of this recognition and we [Healthy Kids' Board of Directors and staff] are so proud of Leslie! We extend our deepest gratitude for her devoted service to our communities and families in Lincoln County and Maine! |

COMMUNITY NEWS | |
Update on the proposed Casco Bay Trail: Here’s an update on the 25-mile anchor of the Casco Bay Trail: a vision for a rail trail corridor from Portland to Auburn. Our next step is with the Maine Legislature. The corridor CANNOT become a trail unless legislators vote to make it one. Yarmouth State Representative Art Bell introduced a bill, LD 209, that provides that authorization. We need your help to get it passed! As soon as the public hearing date on LD 209 is scheduled, I’ll share this info here. We need you to testify in person at the public hearing in Augusta, if possible. Share your own rail trail experiences and how this transformative initiative is so important to our area. Written testimony may be submitted, too. Follow Casco Bay Trails on Facebook for the latest information: https://www.facebook.com/cascobaytrail | |
