May is mental health awareness mont

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! The Cumberland/North Yarmouth Mental Health Committee will be holding a community conversation with the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Maine on Tuesday, May 25th at 6pm. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube.

Greg Marley of NAMI Maine will be hosting the conversation aimed to help talk about the effects of the pandemic, understand grief, build resilience, and find local resources.

We hope you will join us for this important community conversation as we collectively strive to overcome the challenges of mental health so that no one ever has to face it alone again.

covid 19 testing

The Yarmouth Community Coronavirus Task Force has a community-based, Maine state-certified COVID-19 testing service. This service is available to North Yarmouth residents as well. This testing service has the capacity to administer both rapid tests, for those who are close contacts or symptomatic, and PCR tests. It is designed specifically for those who are homebound and without access to testing, or those who have schedule challenges.

Upon receiving a referral, a nurse or CNA from the Yarmouth Covid Testing Team will travel to the client’s home and provide self-swab instructions to the client. These referrals can come from community organizations or community members themselves. There is no cost for this service.
