COMING SOON! Members of the Waste Reduction Committee have teamed up with Apparel Impact to provide our community with an option to recycle clothing, shoes, sheets & towels. A bin like the one depicted in the image will be available at the entrance of the Municipal Offices (10 Village Square RD) for residents to recycle textiles. ***FMI***
You heard it here! ecomaine accepts all dry and empty aseptic boxes and containers, and keep those little caps on! For more info on what’s recyclable check out ecomaine.org/101
ATTENTION! ecomaine does not accept any metal gas can cylinder or tank in recycling. What if they are empty? Still, we cannot accept them. Tanks for your grill or camping stove are still PRESSURIZED, meaning if they get caught in the drum feeder or conveyor belt, they can explode and put humans in danger. Tanks are notoriously still containing some fuel too, swipe for results of that. Remember to keep our workers safe and keep any metal pressurized gas canisters out of the recycling stream. Some of the larger ones can be brought to a transfer station or take back program when you buy a full one. The small ones can go into the trash.
WINTER PARKING BAN Per the Roadway Ordinance, section 10, a Winter Parking Ban is in effect from October 15th to April 15th. Parking is prohibited on all public roads and ways during any snow/ice event. Any vehicles parked in violation of this ordinance may be towed at the owner's expense.
Winter sand is available for residents’ personal use. Each residential dwelling is eligible for up to 20 gallons (four 5 gallon pails) of sand per storm. The use of municipal sand for the sanding of private roads is prohibited. Sand pile is located at the entrance of the PWD facilities – 40 Parsonage Rd.
