ecomaine accepts aseptic boxesecomaine acceptable items

You heard it here! ecomaine accepts all dry and empty aseptic boxes and containers, and keep those little caps on!

For more info on what’s recyclable check out ecomaine.org/101

no gas containersno gas containers

ATTENTION!

ecomaine does not accept any metal gas can cylinder or tank in recycling. What if they are empty? Still, we cannot accept them.

Tanks for your grill or camping stove are still PRESSURIZED, meaning if they get caught in the drum feeder or conveyor belt, they can explode and put humans in danger.

Tanks are notoriously still containing some fuel too, swipe for results of that.

Remember to keep our workers safe and keep any metal pressurized gas canisters out of the recycling stream.

Some of the larger ones can be brought to a transfer station or take back program when you buy a full one. The small ones can go into the trash.
