Property Tax Stabilization Program for Seniors

state of maine

Property Tax Stabilization for Senior Citizens, also known as the Property Tax Stabilization Program (the “Program”), is a State program that allows certain senior-citizen residents to stabilize, or freeze, the property taxes on their homestead.  As long as you qualify and file a timely application each year, the tax billed to you for your homestead will be frozen at the amount you were billed in the prior tax year. Eligible residents who move may transfer the fixed tax amount to a new homestead, even if that new homestead is in a different Maine municipality.  Application deadline is December 1, 2022.

After months of planning, StoryWalk in North Yarmouth begins!

Inspired by community input, the Living Well in North Yarmouth Committee, in collaboration with the Parks and Recreation Committee, began the project last winter.

Over the past month, volunteers from those committees, with a little help from the Public Works Crew, began the work of clearing the trail, which is located behind the Community Center. All volunteers are welcome!

Soon, posts and signage will be installed and of course, the stories!  Stay tuned!

Volunteers using a very generous donation from Maine Paint Co. in Yarmouth, prepared the storyboards today (7/28/2022).

Shout out to Maine Paint and the generous folks at Hammond Lumber Co. for helping us create this for the children of our community!  And don't forget Kelly Greenlee of Prince Memorial Library for her help, as well.

The North Yarmouth community comes together to make great things happen!!

NOPE - You Can Not Recycle That!
got sharps

ecomaine

Each year, thousands of Mainers use millions of syringes, pen needles and lancets or “sharps” to

control medical conditions like diabetes, arthritis and allergies. Stockpiling used sharps in the home

or improper disposal by throwing them in the trash or flushing them down the toilet puts you and

your family, janitorial and solid waste staff, and the general public at risk for accidental and painful

needle sticks that can lead to infection, tetanus and transmission of disease
