PLANNING BOARD PUBLIC COMMENT PROCESS
The purpose of Planning Board meetings is to conduct the business of reviewing applications for subdivisions, site plan review, conditional uses or contract zoning in accordance with the town’s Land Use Ordinance as adopted by the voters at a town meeting. The public has the opportunity to provide comments at Public Hearings held for proposed ordinance changes and subdivision, site plan review and conditional use applications.
Members of the public who have general questions about the Land Use Ordinance or an application are invited to call (207-829-3705 option 1) or email the Code Enforcement Office.
If you are interested in commenting on an application or providing general input on the Land Use Ordinance, you can contact the Planning Board by sending an email to the Code Enforcement office or sending a written letter to Town of North Yarmouth, ATTN: Planning Board, 10 Village Square, North Yarmouth, ME 04097. Correspondence will be reviewed by town staff, shared with the Planning Board for consideration and entered into the record for specific applications.
PLANNING BOARD MEETINGS
Planning Board meetings are held at Wescustago Hall & North Yarmouth Community Center.
The public may continue to use Town Hall Stream and Channel 1301 on Spectrum to watch the meetings.

Please follow the instructions below on how to submit your packets & payments:
- Go to the Applications & Forms page on our website and complete the require documentation.
- Submit packets by one of the following methods:
- Call 829-3705 option 1 or email the Administrative Assistant to schedule a time to drop them off at the Code Enforcement Office.
- Mail the packets to:

We will review the packets, contact you with total fees due as well as whether there is any additional information needed.
Here are the ways Applications can be paid:
- Pay online using a credit/debit card Use "OTHER" category (please note there is 2.5% or $1 minimum convenience fee added at the time of checkout)
- Drop the check in the Drop Box located outside the Code Enforcement Door (10 Village Square Rd)
- Drop the check off during our walk in hours of M-TH 8:00-5:00 PM
- Mail a check to Town of North Yarmouth ATTN: Code Enforcement Office,10 Village Square Rd, North Yarmouth, Maine 04097
Mission Statement
The North Yarmouth Planning Board is a volunteer board composed of members of the North Yarmouth community. The Board is charged with reviewing applications for development within the town and making decisions by applying the Town of North Yarmouth Land Use Ordinance and applicable State of Maine Statutes.
In addition to application review, the Planning Board periodically reviews the Land Use Ordinance and recommends changes to support the Comprehensive Plan and foster sustainable development. The goal is to keep North Yarmouth a safe, peaceful, healthful, attractive and economically successful community.
Applicants can expect efficient, fair, thoughtful, impartial decisions and respectful treatment by all members of the Board.
