Chandler Brook Preserve

The Chandler Brook Preserve includes remnants of an old farm, including two large hay fields and a hemlock forest. This lovely property is so-named because it borders the brook, a major tributary for the Royal River.

Visitors will find trails that parallel Chandler Brook and connect the upper and lower fields. Parking is available in a small gravel lot located north of the railroad bridge on North Road. This is approximately 1 mile from the intersection of Route 9 and North Road. Please stay on the trails and do not cross onto private property left of the trail.

Chandler Brook is home to many species of birds and is considered an ebird “hotspot" with 69 species identified. Kestrel/ Flicker boxes have been placed there by the Parks and Recreation Committee.
