Raising Financially Savvy Kids

Parents play an important and influential role in teaching children about money. Supporting and encouraging early financial knowledge is critical to ensuring good money habits for life. During this workshop, you’ll learn important strategies and tips for teaching your kids about money, including resources, tools, and activities designed to strengthen knowledge and encourage conversation. 

Mary Dyer has worked in higher education for over 20 years, assisting students and families with planning, paying and saving for higher education. Currently, she serves as a Financial Education Officer at the Finance Authority of Maine, providing college access, financial education and debt management services and training to Maine students and families, as well as the professionals who support them.


For the past six years, Mary has served as President of the Maine Jump$tart Coalition for
Personal Financial Literacy, a nonprofit volunteer-based organization that is dedicated to
improving the financial capability of Maine children and young adults.
